Hi,

I want to properly attribute where the traffic is coming from in Google Analytics.

Essentially, I have about 25 URLS (www.samedomain.com/deal1 ; www.samedomain.com/deal2 etc) that redirect to another subdomain website (www.subdomain.website.com) and want to know which URL the user first typed in.

How do I do this?! ...I'm completely drawing blanks. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi Whitney,

If these links truly go to another top level domain, then use custom campaigns (If you don't need data tying how someone got to the original site to sales).

Edit:  If these pages actually redirect without user interaction, then you will need to tag the campaigns that drove the user to these individual pages and pass that along in the redirect.  If the are vanity URL's that simply redirect then have the developer append the utm parameters as part of the destination URL.

Best,
