Social shares are significantly higher than page views - how is that possible?
I coordinate a blog where each article has the option to share the link to it via social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest are the options). I've been noticing that often the social shares we have are significantly more than the actual pageviews - both total pageviews and unique. I could see if it were a smaller number of people who re-shared a post without actually looking at it, but 168 people sharing it on social media and only 20 pageviews? Is there any reason this number is appearing so skewed and a possible way to fix it so it is closer to reality? Thanks for any insights!
