Sessions to transactions vs. New vs returning

Hi all,

Looking at my GA data, I am a bit confused with 2 of the reports:

- on New vs returning: my transactions are split roughly on an equal basis 50/50 New vs returning visitors

- on Sessions to transactions: 85% of my transactions are made on first session

The #transactions is the same on both reports.

How can I get such a difference between those 2 reports?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Arno,
You are comparing two different metrics and want same results for transactions.

Google quietly updated this Now, visits is named "sessions" and unique visitors is named "users."

Hope this helps you to undestand.

Thanks

I have the exact same question!

I'm wondering if maybe 'Session to Transaction' is specific to the time range while 'User Type' isn't??

Anybody has an answer for this?

Shouldn't "new visitors"'s transactions be equal to "1 session to transaction" ?
