Hello ALL ,

Another question I need answer.
I have question If I edit a default channel grouping and setup a channel for 'organic brand search' only with the following setting:

system defined channel matches to organic AND query type matches Brand

will the reports show up in analytics?

I have also setup my brand name earlier using manged brand search option. There is only one brand name I have entered.

I have very small data in my test website.I have set it up today and manually search my brand name in Google. But my new channel is not showing up.That 1 search should have showed with my new channel name.

Theoretically I have done all right .What do you think?

Thanks

Google search no longer passes search query details to Google Analytics, instead giving queries a '(not provided)' keyword value. Most likely your search query doesn't make it to Google Analytics at all, so it doesn't matter how you define your channel grouping.

Hello Mike,

Are you sure about this? But what happens if I do this? system set defined channel matches to PAID AND query type matches Brand.

Notice the difference ?If i change the channel match paid instead of Organic does it will still show not provided?

Currently your assumption is right it is showing 5 search not provided which i set as brand search.

Yes, in the case of paid search, keyword data is transferred from AdWords into Analytics (paid search), but for organic search it is mostly (not provided) now.

Thanks Mike ,
I mean to say this concept mentioned in the link below:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6050679?hl=en

If I reverse the same process for organic it will not work?Means which I mentioned earlier tweaking channel setting.

Open the report Acquisition > Campaigns > Organic keywords. If you do not see any branded keywords, then the process you are working with will not work.

Mike it is showing not provided as well.So probably my experiment will not work that way.
