Removed Redirects - Page Metrics Down

Hey folks,

We removed a redundant redirect parameter and our sessions are way up. (Yay!)
However, our pageviews, pages per session and avg. time on site are all down. (Boo!)

1. Are redirects counted as pageviews or factored into pages per session?
2  Does reducing redirects also reduce avg. time on site? Is that a bad thing?
3. Would combining duplicated URLs (http, https, www, non-www) into one URL have a negative impact on traffic or reporting?

If a page view is fired, then it's a page view and will be tracked as such in GA. I'd recommend checking to see if you can see specific pages suddenly ceasing to send page views.
