Referral from google with referral path: /searchurl/r.html - any ideas?

Hello analytics superstars!

I've got a client with a lot of traffic coming from google.co.uk, it's about 1% of their total but in real terms ca.20k visits; it's quality traffic and I'm wondering where it's coming from. Could be google groups or posts, but open to other ideas! Referral path report shows that it comes from this:

/searchurl/r.html

all help appreciated!

Hi,

there were some earlier speculations here:

But most likely some Google based traffic from other services than search. I checked that r.html and it seems to be a redirect page. Can you filter/segment traffic from r.html (did it start suddenly and what date) and then compare to overall referral traffic from google.com (if any) to see if you have a drop where the spike is. Can you see where the traffic dropped?

Please report back your findings
