Places Where (not set) Can Strike in Google Analytics

As time goes on, we start to seeing ‘(not set)’ creeping into some of our Google Analytics reports. This label doesn’t tell us much in terms of Analytics or decision-making and it can strike in multiple places throughout our data. What are some places where it is a red flag that should not be overlooked and how it can be fixed?

Hi Gopal,

In my experience the most common are
-Adwords not correctly linked to your Google Analytics
-Manually tagged URLs missing some parameters
-Spam, you may see a lot from this in pages, hostnames, page titles. A valid hostname filter should fix this.

You can find other cases here:

Hope it helps,
