Page name segment

Is it possible to create a visit segment using a page name or a group of page names? I'm not seeing that option under Behavior, so I'm guessing not, but I'm hoping that someone has a creative solution. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

You can only create segments using GA default dimensions or custom dimensions. For the default dimensions, Page or Page Title would be your best bet.

You can always create a custom dimension called Page Name but I would use Page or Page Title instead (assuming relevant pages have unique titles). If you don't want to use Page due to long/messy URIs, you can always filter out useless parameters under View Settings.

Best,

Thanks for the note, Mike. I don't know why, but I'm not seeing Page or Page Title as options under Behavior when trying to create a new segment. I only see Sessions, Days Since Last Session, Transactions, and Session Duration....all of which require numerical values. Any thoughts?

Hi Jeremy,

Use Conditions under Advanced. Then click Ad Content (default condition) and change that to page. Depending on how your pages are structured, you can use Starts With, Exactly Matches, or Contains to get one or a group of pages.

Best,

Mike
