Own website is highest referrer and only converting domain.

Upon doing some analysis, I found that my clients GA shows referral traffic to be the highest source of traffic:
When digging deeper, I found that from the referral traffic, the actual site URLs (and Shopify CMS URLs) are the only converting URLs:
Upon checking the conversion path, the referral traffic is 9/10 times the converting traffic source:
I wanted to see if this is correct because my gut says that there is a tracking configuration issue with the way GA has been implemented?
