Need Help with Not Set in Google Analytics Report

Hello All,

I'm on the Audience--Technology--Network Report and see 25% of my overall traffic masked as 'not set'. But on the same report when I move to the 'hostname' tab from the 'service provider' tab, the 'not set' reduced to lower than 1%.

Why there's such a difference? Also, I can see the 'not set' data in organic landing page report too. It's the second highest trafficking source in my organic landing page report. What's the reason that such a huge traffic is masked as 'not set' for my site?

Thanks for your help!

Hey thanks,

I already read those articles. I'm not able to comprehend them. I can clearly understand how 'not set' can appear in your landing page report for direct, campaign traffic when you don't set a filter. In my case, I filtered the landing page to only include Google organic traffic. How can a landing page (pages) from Google organic search be masked as 'not set'?

What could be the problem and how can I diagnose it? Thanks!Not_set.png
