Links from a year ago no longer providing traffic

Help! My company implemented a large museum site migration with NO SEO involved. I was able to at least come in right after the fact and reissue 301 redirects.

I'm looking at my analytics report and I'm seeing that great inbound links that were providing about 100 hits a year ago are now providing ZERO clicks in my report. I double checked those quality sites providing the links, and none of the links 404 on our end. They all properly 301 redirect to the right place, or they go to the homepage (that never changed domain names).

So why in the world would links on pages just stop producing traffic, even if the links go to correct pages? I've noticed this is trend now with about seven websites who delivered high traffic but does nothing now.

Hi :-)
Is the website being tracked a http website and are any of the sites linking back https?
If so.. then they are likely not passing the referral info and will be seen as direct traffic instead.

Are there any filters applied to the GA view that might be blocking data from being reported as expected?

Hi! Thank you so much!

I did some digging into this possibility, but the site was redesigned as an http site, so that has not changed. And checking some of the higher backlinks that have lost those referral clicks, most of them also do not have the SSL certificate and are still http.

As far as filters, no Smiley Sad I used the original, no-filter view to check referrals and this issue is still occurring with absolutely no filters.

Here are some pictures/examples that might shine a little light on getting to the bottom of this. The site in question is Hagley.org.

Thank you so much for all of your help!
