Keywords Not showing at all?

So we have a fairly new website but have Analytics installed. Just to test, I have had several people find our website in Google by typing in the domain name "Widgets On Sale .com" so I could see some keywords and make sure Google is getting the info correctly. However, when I see these people in Real time and/or on the Acquisition>SEO>Queries ... nothing ever shows except for "not set" or "not provided" Any reason why this may be?

There was a shift a few years back where Google went to secure searches, you can only use the SEO queries report outside of the past 2 days - might be worth logging into Google Webmaster Tools to get the full list of queries. Most keywords in the acquisition section of the reporting will show not set or not provided due to search now being secure.

Not sure I understand the 'Secure' concept. But what I am understanding is that this report is basically not that effective/useful?

Search changed from http to https which is why you can't see all of the keywords anymore, within GA its best to look at a larger date range as the most recent 2 days won't show data - perhaps look to have a larger date range in the queries report and see what comes up then.

Hi Christopher,

As David said, you can't see them because of secure and privacy reasons, the best way to check "not provided" keywords is check them out on Search Console.
