How to track users specifically to a deeper level?

Hi GA Expert Team,

My customer has a Mobile app which is a combination of native and hybrid applications. The mobile app has users with unique ID called "UNID-XXX" and these users login from various stores, we call it as "Store Code".

Is it possible to track the below metrics and if yes, how?

1. Number of logged in users with their UNID-XXX and Store Code
2. No of clicks on Menu items and other fields on the screen (such as textbox and a simple click on image)

Does it require "Event Tracking"?
Please help me out with an accurate solution. Thanks a lot in advance.

Best,
Sri

Hi,

1. You would need a custom report using dimensions:
- Unique ID (assuming you stored it in a custom dimension)
- Store Code (also assuming you stored it in a custom dimension)

2. Yes, you need Event Tracking for that. Try using Google Tag Manager for easier implementation.

Thanks, Julien.

Can you guide me the process of going ahead with custom dimensions? Am not sure about it.

Go to Admin > Property > Custom Definitions > Custom Dimensions
(big red button) New dimension > give it a name and a scope (Session)

To collect data for the custom dimension, follow the instructions here:

To see data collected for the custom dimension, create a custom report using your custom dimension in the green section and the metrics you want in the blue section. Enjoy!
