How to measure retention?

Hi everyone,

I have a question about measuring retention. What's the best way to measure user's retention in Google Analytics?

I tried to analyse retention but found some strange things that are not clear to me.

Check this out:

Do you have any ideas why those numbers don't match up?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey there Aare,

If I'm correct that's because you're looking at what's called, Pre-Calculated data - data that is essentially sampled data. Below the number you'll see it says:

 "% of Total: 21.84% (3310)"

This is the size of the sample it took. If you want a complete view of the data then you'll have to run a custom report. For more information check out this article below!
