How to display http://hostname.com/page instead of just ./page in realtime view?

Hello,

I am using cross-domain tracking and in realtime view I see ./page.

I know I can make custom report and add hostname to url's but how can I add hostname into realtime stats?

Thanks.

Hi Lasha, you would need to add a view filter in order to display the page dimensions as hostname + page.

Follow the procedure:

1) create a new test view

2) Create a filter and apply it to the new view

3) Once it is confirmed the filter is up and running apply the same filter to the production view (view where you usually look at reports)

Please note that once you apply this filter to a preexisting view it will be a bit more difficult to compare page dimension over time as / and www.domain.com/ are going to be 2 separate.

Hi Lasha,

Step 1-> Go to Admin
Step 2-> Click on Filter (View)
Step 3-> Click on Add Filter
Step 4-> Assign a name to your filter
Step 5-> Filter Type-> Custom -> Advanced
Field A -> Extract A
Hostname (.*)

Field B -> Extract B
Request URI (.*)

Output To -> Constructor
Request URI $A1$B1

Tick Mark on -> Field A required & Override Output Field

A side effect, albeit small, is that on the All Pages report, the little icon that on click lets you go straight to the site page will no longer work.

Without filter you can always see the domain by applying a secondary dimension of hostname.
