How does GA measure users per hour/day/week/month?

Users of the app which I am developing usually make use of our service heavily for weekdays.

For weekends, usually DAU tends to fall down.
That trend was well depicted in GA users dashboard before.

But suddenly about two weeks ago, DAU for either weendays or weekends doesn't show any difference in GA.
I didn't chage any GA codes on my application. And I can see there's no any API for measuring DAU, WAU, MAU which makes me think GA automatically meausure DAU/WAU/MAU.

Hi,

GA calculates this exactly as you would expect and uses the time zone settings you specify for processing.  That said, I'm not sure why you would see a difference recently as I don't believe that any processing methodology change has taken place.

Best,
