How does GA do Linear Attribution?

Hello,

I am working on a linear attribution report and just curious on how GA does linear attribution, especially when there are multiple touches involved for a single channel along a conversion path. The documentation says 'each touchpoint in the conversion path would get equal credit'.

Let's say we have an order which has 3 Paid Searches, 1 Direct, 1 Referral on the conversion path, does GA assign 1/3 to each of the three channels, or assign 3/5 to the Paid Search, 1/5 to Direct, 1/5 to Referral?

Thanks!

Hi kyjwsh,

it's 3/5 Paid Search. 'Linear' means linear in time, so every touchpoint gets the same weight during customer journey.
