Google Analytics with a WordPress

I want to be able to show a report in Google Analytics of certain page views.  I thought if I added tags to the pages, I would be able to select that tag (White Paper) and show the page views for all White Paper pages.

 

Is this possible?

By default, Google Analytics pulls information based on the URL of each page that receives traffic on your website. So if the TAG is not in the URL, then you have to either change your setting or look into establishing event tracking for your website.

In addition, files that are downloaded cannot normally be tracked since Google Analytics is not part of the files. If you want to track White Paper downloads you should look into event tracking for clicks.

To keep things simple for you, try the free version of the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin and see if that helps.

Hi Kim,

You can also use custom dimensions for sending custom data to Google Analytics.
