GA reports and new SSL? Or flagged by search console?

Now, jetpack is telling me that on both fri and sat I had a little over 8000 views. GA is telling me 1500.
Now, on Friday I posted something about special ed (my blog content) and it is sort of going viral, mini viral. I am seeing literally hundreds of shares from my fb page, my fb group and the pages of others.
I got a few messages from Google about unnatural links. Though there were never any unnatural links on my site, I did go through my blog and just delete a ton of posts--about 20% of the blog. I also deleted a specific link that they said they viewed as unnatural, and on my second appeal, I got this: Good news! Your reconsideration request has been approved and Google has removed any manual action on your site. Keep in mind that removal of a manual action doesn’t guarantee that your site’s ranking will increase.
Two things happened in the past week or so--One is that I purchased SSL and now my site is https. As far as I can tell, I changed it everywhere I needed to change it--like in GA and search console.
What's going on, what am I missing? What do I need to fix? is it because ga is only reading either http or https, and not reading both?
