Editing Default Channel Grouping & Using Custom Advanced Segments

We recently edited / changed our Default Channel Grouping. I'm wondering how that impacts or relates to advanced segments that we use.

If we changed how Organic traffic is categorized (by editing default channels), does that mean that when we apply Google's out-of-the-box Organic segment it will be in-line with our updated definition organic traffic?

Please let me know if you need additional information or any clarification!

Thanks!

Hi Rebecca,

Could you write a little bit more how exactly you've modified Default Channel Grouping?

Also keep in mind that default ("System") segment is based on one condition, particularly:

"medium" exactly matches "organic". Hence your "Organic" segment ("System") shouldn't be affected by any Default Channel Grouping changes.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Seb

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your response.

Your explanation makes sense to me, duh!

Thanks again!
