Does definition of a "returning" visitor vary depending on time period of new vs. returning report?

Hello,

I am reviewing my site's new vs. returning vistor report and trying to understand how "returning" is calculated. If I am looking at the report for a 6 month period, will returning be anyone who returned during those 6 months? Or is it anyone who has an existing cookie (24 month duration, I believe)?

Thanks

Neel

Hi,

Users who visited first before the specified date range and return during that date range will be counted as returning users.

Please check the article below about returning visitors:

Let me know if you have more questions.
