Discrepancy between 'Users' metric in different views
We're looking at the value of 'Users' metric for today in Google analytics. The problem is that this metric have very different values in 'Audience\Overview' view (we can see here: 10.477 users) and in 'Devices and Network\Overview' view (we can see here: 50.314 users), if we focus on today's data.
Looking at previous periods, this metric doesn't match 100% in both views but seems to be much more consistent.
Could you please explain us why those views have different numbers for Users metric for today and what is the correct number?
Thanks in advance.
Re: Discrepancy between 'Users' metric in different views
As far as my experience goes, data of today is not always the same in different reports. Google Analytics data needs up to 24 h to update data in each report.
Sometimes it is possible to check the date and time of the data in the reports in small letters at the end of the report (at the bottom right). There is an option to click "refresh/update report" which is sometimes helpful to make sure that the data in both reports (here: audience and device) is of same time. Maybe it helps you to refresh the reports?
