Direct spikes caused by browser addon - a new thing?

Is anyone else seeing this?  I have a couple of instances where a site visitor (single location, browser, version, network domain, etc) looked at multiple pages within a very short time frame (15 different pages, 2 minutes total), yet every single pageview is recorded as a new session. This looks like a browser addon (Chrome 55.x) that is dumping the cookies between pageviews. Without the cookie, each pageview would be seen as a new user, new session, direct visit.

Needless to say it messes up the metrics with what looks like spam attributes (spike of direct bounces from one location).
