Difference in visit numbers (GA vs Adobe)

Hi,

Not sure this is the best place, but im trying to understand why there is such a substantial difference in visit numbers between Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics? (around 50% more in GA). I appreciate due to data processing there would be some difference but this seems too high? Anyone have any idea to why this might be?

Thanks

There is no simple answer as to why, but it boils down to how the data is collected. To my knowledge, both use cookies as the primary means of tracking users. However, Google is by far better at this because to its advanced methods of tracking user information (demographics). Google also has something called User ID, which is how they are able to track the same user on different devices. Adobe has some nice features for reporting and analysis, but when it comes to raw data it is never easy comparing one to the other. https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookies-user-id

There are also other factors to consider, such as if Google Analytics is tracking all your pages, but Adobe Analytics is only running in some areas then that could easily account for the difference. Also, check to see if Adobe's code is getting render blocked by the browser. https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?utm_source&url=

possible reason could be the amount of bot / spam traffic hitting GA is greater than SC.

Try this: https://referrerspamblocker.com/

See the results in a day or two.

Both are installed across the site (same page etc) the adobe installation is abit more advanced but im not currently looking at custom events and variables purely the base tag, so visit, pageview information etc.
I understand there should be a difference but not to the level im seeing which is visits down by around 50-60%, is where im getting stuck on understanding why this would be, I would expect them to be a lot closer.
Not sure this would be down to render blocking unless the user is clicking before load but looking at site it minimal impact in terms of time - plus again if counted for a little not 50% ? Thanks for help though any other advice potentially?
