Difference between custom reports and standard reports

Hi guys,

I'm looking at the standard Product Performance report (Conversions > E-commerce) filtered for medium = 'cpc' but it doesn't match what I get using the custom reports function segmented by Product and filtered for medium = 'cpc'. The date range is last month so I'm not sure that sampling is the issue. Anyone know what's up?

Thanks,

V

Hey V,

Custom reports theoretically should be the most accurate since it will not use sampling unless you surpass a certain amount of data.

Your typical report in GA uses sampling, hence the difference.

Let me know if this answers your question.

You can confirm whether sampling is present in standard or custom reports by the indicator which appears under the date range - this will tell you what level of sampling - if any - is present.

Hi,

I'm also facing the similar issue.

And in my case, for the particular time period count in custom report is less than standard report.

Why so?
