Hello guys,

I'm just curious about the default setting for tracking cookies in reports except Multi-Channel Funnels Reports.

I know Multi-Channel Funnels Reports has a lookback window to tracking 1-90 days. But What about the rest of reports?

I'm guessing it tracks all paths if cookies alive.

Thank you

Hi,

By default, the range for campaign attribution is 6 months.  So as long as a visitor keeps coming back direct (not organic, paid, etc.) once every 6 months without clearing cookies.. the campaign info will live on.  (Direct visits do not overwrite organic, paid, etc.)

Best,

Thank you for your response.

I'm very new to GA. What is campaign attribution means?

Is it the paths before the conversions?

Thanks

yes.. which campaign get's credit is attribution. Standard reports are last click and that has to do with your campaign timeout of 6 months.  In other words, if I came to your site from a paid ad and then did not come back for 6 months, and then I type in your url on my next visit, I would come as a direct visitor.  If I came back within 6 months by typing your URL, then my visit would still be attributed to the paid ad.
