Conversion Sources

Hey guys, 

 

We have a third party landing page for our Google adwords account and the same landing page is linked to our home page, what I want to know is how can I track the users that covert on that page from ads vs the ones that convert from our website? There is a Thank you page set up too. 

 

Any ideas on this would be great, I have already tried looking at the behaviour insights on the Thank you page in Google Analytics but it seems to say that all lists seem to come from Direct sources?

Without knowing more about your business it's hard to give specific advice; that said, do you have cross domain tracking set up? If not, I would highly recommend it.

Ultimately you will be able to see the original ad data, keywords etc that let to conversions and differentiate between traffic that landed on the 3rd party and on your own site.

With Universal Analytics and the linker plugin, it's pretty straight forward.
