Content Drilldown when my website is NOT structured

Hello,

I'm quite new to Analytics, so sorry for the silly question and here it goes:

I'm interested in the report Behavior/Site Content/Content Drilldown. It will be very usefull to me, because my site is organized in few categories and every category has few sub-categories. BUT my website structure of the URLs is like this:
mywebsite.com/category1
mywebsite.com/subcategory1
mywebsite.com/subcategory2
and so on... I want to track the traffic and the performance of each subcategory within the category. For example category1 has 1000 pageviews and has 100 subcategories, subcategory2 is performing very good with 80% of that 1000 pageviews.

I know the easiest way is to change my site structure, but lets assume that the IT's doesn't want to do that. Is there a way I can somehow group these subacategories?

Thank you in advance,

Dimitar

Hey Dimitar,

This would be a perfect time for you to use Google Analytics's 'Content Grouping' & 'Segments feature' ! That way you can divide your traffic according to subcategories and then compare them against each other.

#1 - Create different content groups according to sub-category. (See link below):

#2 - Create Segments (see link below):

Let me know if this helps!
