Client ID when it's coming from a business

Hi,

I was wondering, if I get many hits on my blog from a same Client ID, could it be several people at a business or does it have to be the same person all the time? I know it's from a business because I have an IP Tracker on my blog as well.

Thanks!

Hi Chantal,

Client ID isn't based on IP. Those hits are from the same browser/device, which for most businesses indicate one person (although it could be a computer/browser combo shared among many employees).

Google's definition of Client ID:

The analytics.js library accomplishes this via the client ID field, a unique, randomly generated string that gets stored in the browsers cookies, so subsequent visits to the same site can be associated with the same user.

Best,

Mike
