Bounce rate effected by Pop up

In an attempt to separate business and consumer visitors we have a Pop op on the home page with two options. If the visitor clicks on the Company button they will land on the home page, however, if they click on the "Consumer" button they will be redirected to a specific page for them.

After launching this test, we noticed that the bounce rate dropped with 68% and the exit rate dropped with 43% while the page views increased with 53%.

What can we do to make sure google don't count this interaction with a new page view and at the same time keep tracking this as an event?

Hi Peter,

You need to send the event as a non-interaction event:

ga('send', 'event', 'Videos', 'play', 'Fall Campaign', {
: true
