Automatic Standard Reports by Email

I used to have a monthly report automatically go out to one client. In that email/pdf, he could see all of the standard sections:

Audience Overview, Acquisition Overview and Behavior Overview.

Now in the new analytics I tried setting up a report (Customization > Reports, Overview) but we get gibberish as reports, such as columns but not rows so the data disconnected from each other.

What's the best way to set up a basic monthly report by email in the new analytics?

hey Laurie,

Here is a simple way you can send reports by email. First navigate to overview reports which you want to send via email. Lets say i want to send the overview reports of the audience section to my client. so i will navigate to Audience >> Overview. In the overview section you will see a navigation menu type including email, export, add to dashboard and shortcut. click on the email option and enter the recipient email, select how frequently you want to send the email, in your case select monthly, next click on the advanced options and select for how long you want the automatic email to be active. so here is a screenshot for your help http://take.ms/24GUZ

Hi, I do have that selected/turned to on.

I tried creating a 'dashboard' for this one client, but the metrics to include are confusing. There is not just a simple 'overview' report that can be auto-generated monthly - it's all advanced, individual metrics, which is difficult for him to work with.

Hi, I've done that as well, and all we get is what is shown in this link: http://grab.by/Se74. He ends up getting a raft of individual reports unconnected to each other and not containing the info he was used to seeing.

Pretty useless, especially when compared to what we used to get: http://grab.by/Se7c...

This is very helpful... is there a way to combine all of the views into one pdf report or does he have to open each one as a separate document?

Hey Laurie,

For doing this you have to create a dashboard for the reports you want to email. For example if you want to send the overview reports of both Audience and behavior section, first navigate to audience >> behavior and from the top navigation menu click Add to dashboard and then create a new dashboard. next navigate to behavior >> audience and again click Add to dashboard and this time select the dashboard you previously created. so you added both reports in one dashboard. now go to the newly created dashboard and send the dashboard as pdf via email. this way you will be sending everything your client wants to see.

hope this will be helpful for you.
