I just recently noticed in Analytics a large number of sessions being reported - around 15K on a particular day. The website usually gets around 500 sessions a day. I went through the reports and found the following data breakdown for that 15K sessions:

Aquisition Overview: Direct (15K)
Audience Overview > Browser: Firefox (15K)
Audience Overview > Country: US (15K)
Audience Overview > OS: Mac (15K)
Audience Overview > Service Provider: bluehost - this is my hosting provider (15K)
Behavior > New vs Returning Visitors: New Visitors (15K)
Events Overview > Event Category: general (15K)
Event Pages: not set (15K)
Events Flow: Category: general; Action: signed out (15K)

Landing pages: not set (15K)
Device Category: Desktop (15K)

I don't know how to interpret this data. Is it indicating that all those 15K sessions were from my host? It's also saying that it's a direct access (ie not coming from search results and not event pages are detected). So what does this mean?
