All Channels Except Direct Showing NO Behavior Metrics

My client's Google Analytics is tracking sessions across all Channels - Direct, Organic, Paid, Referral, etc.  However, all Channels EXCEPT Direct are showing 90%+ Bounce Rates and an Avg Session Duration of 00:00:00 with Pages/Session at 1 -- this an account I recently took over and see this has been going on for some time.

I originally thought it might be an issue with new tabs opening when clicking on links, but after further reading that should NOT be the issue.  They also recently upgraded their site to https, so I'm wondering if there is something going on with that?  See below to get a better understanding of what I mean -- this snapshot is for the month of February.  Help!

It could be that the those users are landing on the page and bouncing immediately and Google isn't calculating time spent on site. That metric is calculated based on the first interaction and the second interaction. Since they bounced, there would be no second interaction to record, resulting in 0 time spent on site.

Don't you think it's odd though that is happening on all channels except Direct? It seems to me there is an error in the tracking code, no? I understand the definition of a bounce and this makes no sense that this many people would do that....

Did you change the tracking url for the view/property to https://

Could you share the website?

A bounce rate that high is not normal, especially for organic. The marked difference with direct is also odd. I'd strongly suggest that this is a tracking issue (or at least, that should be taken off the table first). If you can, post a link to the site. If you can't use GA debugger or the record function in tag assistant to see what is being sent to Google Analytics. My first thought is that you've got some kind of redirect occurring which is restarting sessions - i.e. the bounce rate is so high because a new session is started and the visit is then dropped into the direct bucket.

If you're using GTM, you can also check what you're sending to the datalayer, and GA, via this tool:

Was thinking this might be an improperly configured redirect from http - https or vice versa.

Thanks @John W and @Chris McCreery. I did updated the view settings to https://, that had not been done.  Will that alone fix this you think?

The 301 redirect from http to https, looks like it's working properly. The analytics code is there an firing and reporting it's installed correctly.

I noticed one of your sliders still linked to http version. If you notice any other links on the site to the http, I would go and update those to https or stick with relative paths.

took a quick look and some of the pages seem to have the GA code repeated on them; for example:https://www.theupcenter.org/get-involved/volunteer I'd look into why this is the case, but you should only have the snippet present once.
