A bug with creating Automated Monthly Client Reports

I created an audience overview report that is automatically sent to my client every month end. This report compares performance of the website during the current month to performance of the previous year during the same period.


BUT: when the PDF email is sent to my clients it still compares periods in the very same year and will not send the correct comparison of the two previous years.


HOWEVER: as a quick fix if you request an instant once off report the correct report appears. But if you then request for an automated daily/weekly or monthly report that's when the problem begins.


PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP... because l am sure we all know how tedious this can get having to create reports on a month on month bases manually for hundreds of clients.

Hi Arnold,

what you have been seeing is the way it is in Analytics: You can't schedule a report for a certain date range or comparison date range. The date range is done automatically depending on the report frequency (weekly, daily etc.). Example: A weekly report is always done for the week before.

Hi Arnold, I would agree with Christoph.

What you can do - use GA add-on and import needed data in Google Spreadsheet giving client will have instant to it. It may still be not the best fit but you would be able to save lot's of time anyway.

We might not be understanding each other on this one. I have attached a screenshot of the report l had originally created and had scheduled it to be sent to my clients every month end. The second one is the PDF automated report that is sent to a client with a comparison of the same date range (which of course is not the date range comparison I am not looking for) But: When I create an instant once off report, the correct report with comparison of the 2 date ranges from the current month (Oct 13, 2015 - Nov 12, 2015) to the same period in the previous year (Oct 13, 2014 - Nov 12, 2014) appears. You may try it on your Analytics and schedule a report for the next day. You will get an incorrect PDF report.
