223 Sessions, 0% Bounce, 0 Average Duration

Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble in determining what may be causing this issue.

The 2nd highest number of sessions comes from Ashburn, however, the remaining statistics for this city indicate a bounce rate of 0%, and an average session duration of 0.

Is someone able to explain to me why this may be the case? Following is the full line

The simplest answer is that the visits from Ashburn are not pageviews. They could be events or ecommerce transactions without a pageview.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response.

We do not actually have any events, goals or e-commerce set up for this
website as yet.

Could there be another explanation for this?

Thanks once again

The numbers do not make sense, but GA is just a big database of numbers, so they must balance somehow. Even though you don't use events, are there some being recorded anyways? Maybe it's not you doing it...

Also, check your filter or segments - if you are using a custom segment or filter based on pages, that can have a significant effect on how the metrics appear.

Hi Zain,

that could be referal spam. I had some spam sessions coming from that city.

Could you please check the "source / medium" for that city (please add "source / medium" as a second dimension to that city).

Bye. Nils.

Hi,

could that be some kind of phone call tracking, sending events to your account? Some internet and telecommunication companys are located in Ashburn (s. http://44doors.com/blog/why-do-i-get-so-much-click-traffic-from-ashburn-virginia)?

Nils is right -- Call Rails is a telephone message tracking service, and they log events to your Google Analytics account for the calls they track. You are getting sessions with events from them with no pageviews, hence the metrics are a bit messed up.
