Hi There,

I currently have a client - I am in the process of completing a Monthly Google Analytics report for them. I have noticed that my Dev team has the same Google Tag manager tracking code duplicated. Would this possibly be the reason why my Bounce rate has gone from 46% to 2% from December to January?

Hi Kristen,

Yes, you need to remove one of the instances of the GTM container code to resolve the issue. You are sending duplicate hits to GA this way. Remove the one from the head tag and keep the one that is added after the opening body tag.

Hope this helps.

You do need to remove the duplication, yet when they leave they leave same as when they come they come. So the % ought to be the same, or not. You'll know once the duplicate is gone.
