Hi,
I have noticed that GA won't get referal information when reaching to non-https site from a https location.

Before I buy a certificate for my site, I wanted to test the referal information being transffered between sites, so I created two google-sites sites,
one has a tracker and the other has a link to the tracked site.

When I clicked on the link to my tracked site (all sites using https), there was no referrer tag. (using Google Tag Assistant manager), the referal was set to 0.

Can you please provide a lead on why this is happening, and what possible solution may be?
I want to be sure before I buy and install any https certificate.

Thank you!

Do the domain differ between these 2 sites? If not, then you won't see the referrer.

those are the urls:
tracked site: https://sites.google.com/site/trextestsite/

trying to refer to tracked site from here:
https://sites.google.com/site/trextestsite2/home

The domains are the same, so it isn't referral from one site to the other. GA will treat this as direct.
