Twitter SPAM

In the last couple of weeks I've noticed a huge spike in traffic from Twitter.

There is no way this is genuine traffic (gone from a handful a day to 500+) with a bounce rate of 1%

I've spent a lot of time blocking referral SPAM, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to set-up a filter to block this Twitter traffic (before this it was Reddit)

Has anybody else experienced similar issues/any ideas of how to block this?

Hi @DLiley,

Don't use filters based on the source/name of the spam, this is not efficient anymore.

Instead use a hostname filter, that way you will prevent all fake twitter traffic and any other spam, without risking your real data.

This guide should help you build this filter and apply other measures to prevent most of the spam.

Hope it helps,
