Traffic spikes on pages ending in ?modtest=

We are seeing huge traffic in random pages where the URL has ?modtest= at the end. We assume that it's spam or a runaway process but would like to know if others have experienced this.

Hi @FSG R, that doesn't look like spam, it can be anything from plugins on your site to bots crawling your site.

You can strip this query from the URL in "view settings"

Or if you consider that this is bot traffic I recommend you to filter it so it doesn't mix with your real user data.

Hope it helps,

Thank you for the reply. We do want to filter it out. I'm trying to create a filter now with no luck. I've set it to exclude (modTest) from the Request URL string but it's not working. Any advice on setting this up?
