Self Referral Traffic Issues with Google Analytics

Hi All,

Recently I came across one issue in google analytics [i.e] Self Referral Issue showing in google analytics under Acquisition ==> All Traffic ==> Referrals

I saw my domain name showing up top in referral reports with huge numbers. I am really shocked to see this and i surfed internet to find the solution. They suggested to check the following things:

1. Improper Configuration of  Cross Domain Tracking

2. Not Including Google Analytics Tracking code in all of the pages

3. Cookie Session Expiration.

Since I am a non-technical person, I could not find the exact solution for this problem. Also I am very concern that if we fix this referral issue also, I dont want to see the decrease in referral traffic numbers

I am very much thankful to someone who will give the exact solution for this problem.

Please check if you have your domain added to the Referral Exclusion List in Admin -> Property -> Property Settings -> Tracking Info. Read about the referral exclusion here:
Remember that returning users who have your domain set as their referral and they return as direct they will still have that referral set until they reach your campaign timeout set in Properties -> Property -> Property Settings -> Tracking Info -> Session Settings. Hope this helps.
