does the "Referral Exclusion List" feature only work from creation date or does it also remove previous traffic history from a certain domain? and how is "Referral Exclusion List" different from "filters"?

Hi Marco,

It works only from creation date and it does not work retroactively. It does not work for traffic that is already cookied. If a returning visitor had a referral source set before you added it to the list and then visits as direct, they will still have that referral source. It is different from filters, filters limit and modify the data that is included in a view. When you exclude a referral source by adding a domain to the referral exclusion list, traffic that arrives to your site from the excluded domain doesn’t trigger a new session.

Hope this helps.
