Problem with Page Path at the end

Dear Fellow Forum Members,

I am facing a problem in my blog http://blog.indusdiscoveries.com/. I have been experiencing high bounce rate for this site and when I checked, I can see that there are lot of 404 error pages. These pages have a second page path of my main website, for eg. URL http://blog.indusdiscoveries.com/how-safe-is-traveling-in-kashmir-to-tourists/www.indusdiscoveries.c...

When you click on this, it gives 404 error. In analytics the previous page path come as entrance so I have no clue from where it is coming.

The two most recent blogs are linked with the main website htttp://www.indusdiscoveries.com and the links are working fine. Earlier the same blog was in sub-domain of www.indusdiscoveries.com that we later transferred to a new blog domain.

Your expert advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

Please check in Admin -> View -> View Settings, if you have www.indusdiscoveries.com in the Default Page field, delete it and leave it empty. Hope this helps.

Hi Arnold,

Yes, www.indusdiscoveries.com was there as a default page and I have removed it now. Can you tell me the reason why you have asked me to do it? Its always good to know it from an expert! Smiley Happy

Thanks a ton!

Hi,

Please check the document below about that setting:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1009675?hl=en
Basically GA will append what you enter to the default page field to the path when it is the domain root or a subdirectory. Let me know if you have more questions.
