Hi,

Could anyone advise how to exclude outlook.live.com (and mg.mail.yahoo.com) from Referrals and move it into the Email Channel?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Alexandra.

Hi Alexandra

You could edit the Email channel settings under Default Channel Settings to this:

System def Channel = Email (should already be there)

OR

source reg exp ^(outlook\.live\.com|mg\.mail\.yahoo\.com)$

I have not tested the reg exp above and you might only use includes (outlook.live.com|mg.mail.yahoo.com) in stead. Try it out under segments. Start by creating a segment, set these rules and watch the right hand side of your screen as Analytics filters out the data for you.

You can also use filters to force the sources from getting identified as referrals by Analytics into email as medium. This can be done under Filters and Advanced. See how this guy transfers the organic source com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox from referral to organic here https://www.ohow.co/what-is-com-google-android-googlequicksearchbox-referral-google-analytics/
