Bot traffic that has a low bounce rate?

Looking at traffic from the last few days, we've seen a huge increase from "l.facebook.com", but it looks typical of bot traffic. There is not city/region identified, no service provider, all comes from the same browser, etc. BUT the bounce rate is ridiculously low. Like almost zero. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Bot traffic that has a low bounce rate?

Hi Emily,

Interesting! If you click on it (l.facebook.com / social network) and add 'hostname' as a secondary dimension, what do you see? Do you see your own domain or is there just (not set)?

Thanks for responding, Taavi!

The hostname is our domain. This first showed up on a profile for our main
domain (I filter out subdomains for business reasons). We got 2k hits on
Monday, 1.2k hits on Tuesday, and then it died off completely.

The full referring page is l.facebook.com/lsr.php, which leads to a
facebook error page (I know, I know, never go to potential spam links but I
couldn't help myself).

The thing that really gets me is that all the metrics are characteristic of
a bot (pages/sesh=1.00, ave time=2 sec, % New=100%) except for bounce rate,
which totaled at 0.51% for this group. I am trying to figure out if there
is something on our site, like our main slider, that would count as an
action and therefore not a bounce? No increases anywhere in events or
anything.

Hi Emily,

Seems really weird. If you share the URL of your website, maybe we could help you figure it out. Smiley Happy

Hi Emily,

If there's no region / city identified and there's no service provider, it was probably a bot traffic. Here's a topic where one of our community members asked a pretty similar question: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Reports/Very-high-bounce-rate-for-traffic-from-lm-facebook...

Seems like there's nothing wrong with your website.

If this traffic comes back, let us know.
