Show URL in Site Content reports.

I am trying to show the full path URL in my reports.

I created a filter in the Accounts Tab, named it Top-Level-Domain.

- Filter Type = "Advanced"

- Field A -> Extract A (select) = "Hostname" (textbox) = ".*" (period asterisk)

- Field B -> Extract B (select) = "Request URI" (textbox) = ".*" (period asterisk)

- Output To -> Constructor (select) = "Request URI" (textbox) = "$a1$B1"

- Field A Required = checked

- Field B required = checked

- Override Output Field = checked

- Case Sensitive = unchecked

This filter kills all data. I get nothing at all. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Dan

Hi Dan L,

I believe you need to enclose the regex in brackets. The way these advanced filters work is by grouping according to brackets.

So it should be (.*) for both Field A and B.

Just to be safe, use all capitals in the Output to field, so $A1$B1

Hi Nicky,
I use this filter too, but I have problem when I want to click to the webpage through the reports. I have got 404 error page and URL in adress bar is like www.mywebsite.com/www.mywebsite.com/category/the-post ...

Have you got any idea what´s wrong?

Thank you very much :-)

Hi Jakub N, can you check in your GA settings to see what you have for "Default Page"?

Hi Jakub N,

Can you also check that you don't have a filter that is appending the hostname?

Hi Nicky Y,

I have only two filters in this view, the second one looks like this:

I don't have a solution, just adding to the conversation in case one has been or can be found!

I have this same issue with Site Content reports linking to pages on subdomain going to www.domain.com/sub.domain.com... and therefore a page not found. I also do not have anything set as Default Page for the View.
