Please help!

Ive made some screen shots of the issue I’m having

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x1zaHpbQ2Ie5Hstsrsy-ahz-byh9OTFLPExZ0mIyElA/edit?usp=sharing

I checked the total goal for this month period is 410

but when i tried custom segment sequence path

wanted to check path of conversion from the homepage

the total goal from path users take from “exactly containing”  / to the two destination page below

/bookingconfirmation/

/enquiryconfirmation/

is less than 50 and when i checked path sequence from not containing exactly “/“ it is also less than 50. which means users coming from the homepage is less than 50 while not coming from the homepage is also less than 50

could anyone please help explain the remaining 300 goals,  how can this be explained please

Hi @Krish P

What information is it that you are trying to gain from the adv. segment?

Does your home page in the pages report only get reported as / or do you also have say an index.html that

is also your hompage

Where / is the homepage maybe try the following instead

Filter : Include  Sessions  Sequence Start Any User Interaction

Step 1
Page > Matches Exactly > /
Followed by:

Step 2
Goal Name (Goal # Completions)  > Per Sessions = 1 OR

Goal Name (Goal # Completions)  > Per Sessions = 1

There is an awesome article here that goes into great detail regarding sequencing in segments

hi Bronwyn thanks for replying

i would like to analyze (without creating a funnel) those users who had converted using the following path

1. who had landed on the homepage

2. who had visited a page or two in between

3. at the end made a conversion

but the numbers of the goals dont add up

thanks for the article ill check it out

thabnks

regards

Krish

I think you will find the article helpful and much clearer than me trying to explain it ;-))
it goes thru a number of scenarios and what each one will capture and why one setup may be preferable over one of the other configs and so on.
