Is historical analytics data migrated for a new View with a Filter?

I just created a new View associated a Filter with that same View. Will this filter apply to historic data? Or will it only apply from the date the the View was created?

Hi Aramys,

View filters do not affet historical data - Google Analytics filters do not apply retroactively. They only apply from the date the view was created and filter applied.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Taavi,

Can I export a historical report and import it into a view?

@Aramys M unfortunately, it's not possible to import historical data into a new view.

You can use segments in Google Analytics to analyze historical data (they are like filters but they work retroactively as well).
