How to get data about pages published during a specific date range ?

Hi all,

Here is my problem. I manage a website with many pages that are created everyday. Those pages are put in categories. I would like to know which categories are the most successfull. So I would like to be able to check the average number of views per page and per category.

The problem is that some categories have got far more pages than others. And some pages were pusblished years ago. So when I select a specific date range in GA, I have many pages whose the number of views are less than 10, because GA get me pages with at least 1 page view (or session) in the date range I have selected. And the data are not relevant at all.

The solution would be to analyze only pages that were published on a specific date range. But I don't know how I could get this kind of data. :/

Thanks in advance,

Hi Joffrey,

there are 2 ways to do it though not applicable to historic data. You can:
A) use custom dimension - in your case set 2 custom dimensions (category and YYYYMM published) or
B) use content grouping where one group would be category and the other YYYYMM

Both these methods would require you to change the tracking code a bit.

Kind regards,
