Hello

During march, traffic from Ashburn was so higher and i knew it was a spam. Is there any way to filter the Ashburn traffic from the march reports??

Hi Elizabeth,
I am not sure you can filter your past data from view or not but you can filter it by segmentation you can create a custom segmentation and exclude traffic which you don't want. Also you can try https://referrerspamblocker.com/ to filter spam traffic for future.

Thanks
Vivek

Unfortunately there is no such way to exclude the traffic from historical reports in GA.

But you can add an Annotation for future refference.

Hi Elizabeth,

It's not possible to filter historical data by filters. You can only set up a new segment to filter that kind of traffic:
1. Login to Analytics.
2. Choose the relevant account.
3. Click on "+ Add Segment".
4. Click on "+ New Segment".
5. Enter a Sement Name (e.g. "Filter Ashburn").
6. Click on "Advanced" -> "Conditions".
7. Set Filter "Sessions" and "Exclude".
8. Change "Ad Content" to "City" and "exactly matches" and "Ashburn".
9. Click on "Save".

But please notice:
A segment would filter all traffic from Ashburn. If you wanna filter referral spam, I would suggest you to think about a segment with a filter that excludes relevant spam by "source / medium".

Additionally, like Nanda Kishore said, annotations are recommend to keep that spam traffice in mind.

Bye. Nils.
