How data gets stored when filter is applied[ Edited ]

In the google merchandise store example, there are test view, master view and raw data view.
From what i understand raw data view is the view which does not have any filters applied.
Test view and Master view are same as raw data view with some specific filters applied.
From the Data storage point of view, does GA store data separately for each view?
If that is the case, would it not be redundant data?
Hoping my question is clear.
How data gets stored when filter is applied
Each view is a curated view of the data and contains pre-aggregated data. As the filters are applied the raw data is either excluded or included (or modified) and the data that does not match is discarded and will not be available in the view.
The test view is where one would test new filters before applying them to an analysis view like "master" in this example. You test them because they are destructive and permanently alter your or discard your data in the view.
So in essence, each view is it's own unique data set.
